It's a class of drugs that target the neurotransmitters serotonin and norepinephrine in your brain. I have just stopped effexor about 1.5 weeks ago. I was on it for about 1 1/2 years and had to get off after 25 lb. weight gain, effexor worked great for my mind, but not my body, felt very fat. Does anyone know how long it takes to lose the effexor weight after stopping. I work out every day and eat pretty well. Just tired of not losing. HELP!
I have been on Effexor for about 2 1/2 yrs. The first time I had great success with my depression and the weight loss was great! That being saidI'm not sure if the Effexor contributed to the weight loss or if it was due to the depression from my husband leaving. I went from a size 14 down to an 8!

I thought about trying this product to help with weight loss. It worked, however, it appears to have stop the extended release of the Effexor. A big side effect of stopping Effexor is nausea and vomiting. So that could explain the weight loss. I have had that for the past three days even with taking Effexor. The hot flashes have come back fierce.
